OVERVIEW

Intervening for Literacy Success with Middle School Students, Level 1 is a whole- and small-group, researched-based approach designed for students who find difficulty, as example, (1) extracting key ideas and details and (2) integrating knowledge and ideas. In this interactive six-hour session, teachers will expand their teacher toolkit with power-packed strategies that will awaken students’ critical thinking skills. The results will be mind-blowing. Students–even struggling readers–will begin experiencing active and reflective thinking through connecting, aligning, analyzing, drawing conclusion, evaluating, and synthesizing. What’s more: investing in these skills will pay high dividends because these skills, which are paramount for reading, are also required for effective writing. In essence, the reader and writer will become one!
